Injured (NewtxReader) Pt. 11

   “[y/n]?” You hear Thomas’ voice next to you. “Hey [y/n]!” You flinch and look over. The room is completely different then from the maze. There’s computer screens, people dressing in different clothes, and it seems like this place is nothing but electricity and metal.

  “What’s up?” You asked looking at Thomas, who seems to be a small bit younger.

  He looks around and then back at you with a frown. “Well… they said that you’re ready for diagnostics and then training.” He said with a saddened voice. “It sounds like you're going in before me.”

  “Don’t worry Thomas, I’ll be fine!” You say swiveling in your chair. “Besides, you always get in my way anyways.”

  Thomas smiles and shakes his head. “Alright.” He says looking at you with sincere eyes. He pulls you into a hug and you hug him back. “Just promise to--”


  Your eyes shot wide open and you are suddenly back in the Glade. You feel something behind you and something around your waist. You go down to touch what’s around your waist and feel an arm, your heart leaps, remembering where you are now.

  You slowly look over your shoulder to see Newt peacefully sleeping. You must’ve fallen asleep in Newt’s room. But… what was up with your dream? Why was Thomas there? And where were you? Why did you just suddenly have that dream? You don’t even remember being that close to Thomas.

  Newt groaned making you jump and your thoughts melted away for a few moments. You try not to move because you thought you were waking him up. You felt him move around a bit, his arm pulling off of your waist. You kind of try to grab his arm to keep him there, and you stop realizing what you were doing.

  “Hey.” You hear him in his morning voice. You grin and pretend you were still asleep, when you knew he knew you were awake. “I know you’re awake [y/n].” You keep your eyes closed and try to keep a straight face. You feel the bed move, because he’s pushing himself up.

  He nuzzles your shoulder, and you couldn’t help but grin. “What happened to you sleeping?” He teased. You smile and open your eyes to look at Newt. Suddenly your dream pops back up in your head. Your smile must’ve dropped instantly, because Newt seemed to have felt different. “What’s wrong?”

  You shake your head and look at Newt. “It’s nothing.” You say as normal as possible. Next gave you a questioning look and then must’ve decided against further questioning. You look at your watch and it’s 5am. “I gotta go see if Alby took Thomas on the tour yet.” You push yourself to sit up.

  “I’m taking Greenie on the tour today instead actually.” Newt said standing up. “I’ll let you know when I’m done.”

  “Oh alright.” You say confused. “Have fun!” You get up and braided your hair. You grabbed a string from your pant pocket and tied it. “I need more of those hair ties.” You say to Newt before he left. He nodded and jotted that down on a pad of paper.

  “Wish me luck.” Newt said exiting the room with a wave.

   “You play nice.” You say going to the door. You exit the room watching Newt leave down the hall and out of site. You slowly close the door and hear another door behind you.

  You froze and don’t even bother to turn around and see who it is. “[y/n], what are you doing in Newt’s room?” A forceful voice, you know to be Alby’s, says behind you.

  You turn around and see Alby folding his arms when he came to stop behind you. “Umm…” You say trying to think of something.

  “Tryin’ to steal?” He asked with what seemed like anger in his expression. You shook your head and opened your mouth to say something. “Listen, I know what’s been goin’ on with you two. Just as long as you weren’t--”

  “Oh no, I wouldn’t--”

  “Oh slim it, [y/n]. Just messin’ with ya.” Alby said with a smile, you could never recall Alby ever smiling. “Get going. I’m sure Clint would like to ya relieve him of his duty.”
